Getting Started

A Tailored Approach

Karen uses a range of therapies and tools to help you, which include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Dialetical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness.

For Couples Therapy, Karen uses Gottman Theory, Imago and PORT (Process Orientated Relationship Therapy). The theories and principles of attachment, trauma, psycho-social development stages and neuroscience underpin the methods and strategies used.

Testimonials

“Thank you for your support and strategies you gave me. I have come back to work a lot more positive about dealing with stressful issues. I am much more confident and happy to deal with difficult situations and people - and that has made so much difference to how I feel about "another day at the office.”

"Karen has a special gift to see deep inside the human condition and pinpoint the vital issues which lie hidden at the roots of the problems with which we wrestle in our lives. With a gentle confidence, she has sensitively led me out of a place of dark despair and despondency into a place of bright light where there is hope of a positive way ahead. She has been an amazing source of support and inspiration as she skillfully guided me along the journey to recovery with an unerring respect, awareness and understanding of my feelings at every stage. She truly has an emotional intelligence and skills in this field beyond her years."

Female, Sydney, Australia

"Karen’s style is very gentle, but with a certain firmness to keep accountability. Karen’s efforts extend beyond our sessions, and it is apparent that she thinks about our sessions at different points in the week, sending articles, images, mantras, worksheets, or videos that might be helpful outside of the sessions. I feel that Karen is able to deeply connect with and understand her clients."

Female, New York, America

"The awesome thing that helped me was the calmness and trust I had with you from the day we met. As our conversations went it takes a lot for me to trust anyone, let alone so quick. It was also pleasant to talk with someone that could remember our previous conversation. Believe me, I could not recommend you highly enough. I think it was the TRUST factor that all of us had a secret too tell and we could do that with you without feeling uncomfortable."

"I am grateful for the counselling sessions. In such a short time you have opened up all of knots in this long rope that's in my head. I feel as the walls are no longer closing in but are now opening up. You have made my day and I feel so much better with every session we have. Thank you so much!"
